Ford Mustang vs Dodge Challenger

Published on Jun 1, 2023 by Quinton Gentry

The Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger are two iconic American muscle cars that have a long and storied rivalry. Both have been around for decades and have a loyal following. In recent years, the Ford Mustang has become more powerful, while the Dodge Challenger has seen its power output stay relatively constant. When it comes to horsepower, the Mustang is the clear winner.

The Mustang has always been a powerful car, and with the sixth-generation model, Ford has taken things to the next level. It is now equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. This is a huge jump from the previous model which had just 420 horsepower. The Mustang also has a plethora of performance-enhancing features like launch control and active exhaust system.

The Challenger, on the other hand, has seen its engine output remain relatively the same since its introduction in 2008. It comes with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. While this is impressive, it cannot match the Mustang’s 5.0-liter engine. The Challenger does have some performance-enhancing features, such as the Launch Control and Performance Pages, but these are not as advanced as the Mustang’s.

When it comes to horsepower, the Mustang is the clear winner. It has a more powerful engine, more performance-enhancing features, and is overall a more powerful car. The Challenger is still a great car, but it cannot match the Mustang in terms of power. If you are looking for a powerful car that can out-accelerate and outperform the competition, the Mustang is the car for you.
