Published on Jun 1, 2023 by Quinton Gentry

When it comes to heavy-duty trucks, the competition between Ford’s F-350 and GMC’s 3500 is fierce. Both of these vehicles offer impressive capabilities and features, making them an ideal choice for towing, hauling, and work trucks. So, how do these two trucks stack up against each other?

To start, let’s take a look at the engine options offered by each truck. The F-350 is powered by a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel V8 engine, which is capable of generating up to 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. The GMC 3500, on the other hand, is powered by a 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel V8 engine, which produces up to 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. Both engines provide plenty of power and torque for towing and hauling heavy loads.

When it comes to towing capacity, the F-350 has a maximum towing capacity of 21,000 pounds while the GMC 3500 can tow up to 18,000 pounds. The F-350 also has a larger cargo bed, offering up to 8’2” of space compared to the GMC’s 6’6”. Both trucks have a maximum payload capacity of up to 4,500 pounds.

In terms of interior features, the F-350 offers a range of amenities that make it a comfortable ride, including a six-way power driver seat, dual-zone climate control, and a SYNC 3 infotainment system. The GMC 3500, however, has a few more features than the F-350, such as a power sliding rear window and a 7-inch touchscreen display.

Ultimately, both the Ford F-350 and GMC 3500 are excellent trucks that offer plenty of power and features for towing and hauling heavy loads. However, the F-350 has a slight edge in terms of engine power and towing capacity. Meanwhile, the GMC 3500 offers more interior features and a slightly larger cargo bed. Ultimately, it’s up to the buyer to decide which truck is the best fit for their needs.
